    Well that sounds unbelievable but I'll take your word for it.

    My personal experience - my wife had abdominal pains 10pm at night - had appointment with doctor for next day but I got concerned - had never used emergency services before. Took her to nearest hopital, spoke to nurses and they had her in a wheelchair before I'd completed formalities and into a bed with doctor attending withing 15 minutes. I didn't even have medicare card - they didn't care.

    Spoke to staff afterwards and asked how the system works as the emergency room was fairly full - they said they act depending upon symptons presented. Told me that if someone presents with pains that suggest heart attack, even tho patient looks ok they get straight through which sometimes upsets others waiting who think preferential treatment being given. I thanked everybody before leaving three hours later.

    Experiences with my late mother in her last years were always exceptional. I stand by my opiniuon that we have one of the best (and cheapest) medical systems in the world.
