The Maryborough Sugar Factory's acquisition of the north Queensland Mulgrave Central Mill has significantly increased the company's income.
The factory's results for the second half of 2008 show a 472 per cent jump in revenue.
The company's chief executive Mike Barry says the total revenue for the year will be around $140 million.
He says the outlook is good.
"In terms of the crop I can say for the first time that I've been here that the Maryborough business is actually looking like having quite a good crop," he said.
"We've had good rainfalls and a good area has been planted so it's in quite good shape.
"And equally so is the Mulgrave region. It's managed to avoid a bulk of the damaging rains and floods. So the crop is in very good shape."
