Hellyer Update
Following suspension of operations at the Intec Hellyer Mill, Intec Ltd (ASX code: INL) has
commenced a sequence of actions to place the Mill on care and maintenance.
Staff and contractors at the Intec Hellyer Mill were provided with two weeks’ notice on Monday, 8
September 2008, during which period an orderly shutdown of the Mill will be conducted. A small
workforce will be retained in order to carry out care and maintenance duties.
The recent events at Hellyer have caused the Tasmanian EPA to cancel approval for the importation of
any further EAF dust into the state and Intec has therefore ceased further receipts of EAF dust.
It is expected that the finalisation of flotation operations within the Intec Hellyer Mill will yield in
excess of 1,500 tonnes of additional bulk zinc-lead concentrate, resulting a total final shipment of
approximately 8,000 tonnes.
All relevant stakeholders have been notified. Intec wishes to thank the Tasmanian Government for its
support, as well as that of the many shareholders who contacted the company during the week.
