Happy to help out where I can, hopefully I got all the information correct as he called me at work. The mines in Western Australia are certainly under a lot of pressure, they are in close call with the state and federal government's.
From what I've been told it would be detrimental to shut the iron ore mines completely, as the impact would be unfathomable to the economy and budget.
I'm one of the lucky ones, still with a job currently working at some FMG sites.
New measures are talked about almost daily at the pre-start meetings.
Have been shifted from a 2/1 roster to a 4/2 temporarily with social distancing on plane seats to be implemented.
It could be many months until a vaccine is proven, this really is an unbelievable event taking place. But we all need to try and stay positive and safe.
