I suppose we go overboard because the boys gave us the largest Baccarat stock pot you can get a few years ago. Seems easier to make a bulk lot. We buy the chicken frames in boxes and freeze the ones we don't want to use straight away. Put the stock on in the morning and let it do its magic for 6-8 hours. Cool, remove any fat and bottle up. I have tried cauliflower soup but we come back to pumpkin as our favourite.
