I am amazed at how many times this matter has been recycled.
The condition to return waste back to source is for worst case scenario. This means nothing else can be done with the residue and it is now classified as waste. The waste will have to be stored in a PDF, if a suitable location for a PDF can not be found the waste will have to be returned to source.
Lynas will recycle the residue, they have already said they have proven it can be done but need to use residue from an operational LAMP to get it certified by the AELB.
This is not an issue.
