The whole point of having snowy hydro 2.0 was to have 2000Mw and 3500Mwh of storage, so the excess of generation could pump the water up the hill and run it down the hill when needed (night time).
Whats the point of spruiking excess generation when we can't store it.
The interconnector to NSW is projected to be finished this year but the snowy hydro has blown out to 2030
The biggest battery in Australia is the Victorian Big battery recieved a 160 million dollar grant but has already had one fire. the plant is rated at 300MW but can only use 50MW fo a battery storage system and the rest to curtail load shedding events.
Most batteries have a ten year contract, so 50MW divided by 10 years and 365 days in a year So the Victorian government gets charged 876 dollarsa day for every megawatt this device can supply
