The Greens are a danger and why ALP even supports some of their other idiotic policies is the bigger issue in Vic IMO (and Shorten must take note). How the unions don't break down the doors in SA and Vic is embarrasing given the loss of jobs - without jobs their is no construction industry. Your whole economy can't rest on tourism, retail and housing construction and those with good trades to FIFO out ofSA/ Vic (note the downturn in E&R in WA and FIFO from Vic/SA is dead).
Morons will be morons and supporters will also be morons. As a final point, when these commodities are now shifted to Chinese production what do you think the world benefit will be on greenhouse gases. It will be worse because Chinese coal is worse than Oz coal. The Greens are a danger. ALP must not pander to those morons.
A lot here say I am left, but I find the Greens totally and utterly inconsistent and a blight on the political landscape.
They claim they want more jobs for Australians but are hellbent on Green energy at the expense of manufacturing jobs (where electricity is a major cost - Whyalla) and then blame the government for loss of jobs.
They are then hellbent on enforcing greenhouse targets on Australia without understanding that if we stop LNG production/exports to China for example, China will simply increase coal production which means an increase in greenhouse gases. Policy equals net increase in greenhouse gases.
They are hellbent on attacking blokes that make vulgar comments (which is fine) but are out to lunch when women's rights are completely downtrodden in some middle east countries.
They are hellbent on unfettered refugee intake but then don't understand that money doesn't grow on trees and then also don't understand why we have limited public housing available to poor Australians actually born here.
They are hellbent on sustainable development but when it comes to their own backyard many don't want their windfarms near them because of 'visual and noise' pollution. Ask the hippies in Denmark WA. And don't get me started on those beautiful fume spewing cars many of their supporters drive.
The list is endless. And my favourite - we don't want to support an increase in the fuel levy because it leads to more roads, without understanding the increase monies would be used to improve the roads which would reduce greenhouse gases (i.e. reduced congestion = lower fuel usage).

Well said Scarpa. The dopey greens are indeed a danger. Shorten has picked up a number of their numbskull policies because the ALP fears losing votes to the greens.
