Labor/Greens have driven the price of fossil fuels through the roof with regulations and taxes. This is the only tool in the Canberra tool shed that can get the prices near parity. The left flap on about building industries and mining future metals whilst they make it impossible to get permits through endless layers of unless govts. The govt should have been transiting with gas for the last 20 years but they lack intelligence, vision and experience. Govts are the problem in the first place. Renewables wont last long enough or be efficient enough to pay off in many cases. We will be buying most of the equipment from China and overseas. The unions will be all over every major project blowing the costs and timetables out. They always do. The Greens have enough power to screw the country over for inconsistent and unproven outcomes via their balance of power. Labor needs them or cant get elected, so we end up getting screwed over by bad wasteful policy.
