At the moment the market has slowed a bit but there is a lot of growth in the South of Adelaide. It is not as industrial in the south. It all depends on what you are looking to buy.

It is hard for me as I am very partial to an area in the south called Aldinga Beach. There is a lot of developement in the area and housing popping up everywhere atm. You can still buy blocks of land from smaller blocks 100,000.00 up to approx 160,000.00. But of course the ocean front blocks are expensive but not compared with other states.

I think it is one of the best beaches in Australia but that is my bias talking. Best thing to do is visit and get a feel for the place first. The mining boom in S.A is going to be a huge plus especially Olympic Dam.
