Am I reading this properly: POSCO currently produce 20,000 tons of lithium and with the PLS deal intend to increase that to 30,000 tons annually ie an increase of 10,000 ton per annum. What is peculiar is that the report states they will build facilities in Argentina to achieve this. Why buy rock lithium from Australia, transport it to Argentina and build facilities there to produce this extra lithium carbonate? Why not build them in Australia or in Korea? Something not adding up about this arrangement. Hopefully someone can make sense or perhaps all will better be revealed in the coming days.
