Has Fortescue ever considered buying into the Southdown hematite project near Albany in Western Australia?
Is this a good fit with the low grade product that FMG currently produces?
My understanding is that Southdown principal partner, Grange Resources (ASX Code: GRR) has a project ready to go but lacks a large JV partner.
This is a 30 year mine that will produce high grade iron ore pellets that are in high demand in China due to ongoing pollution problems.
