Theft by staff, Theft by deception (accountancy fraud), simple old lets waste share holders money as they will have no idea where it is going. Newcrest were using 20gt Au as road base because it was not rich enough to mill.
Now when Berkshire took a position in Barrick we all laughed and said Buffet is about to learn about theft by deception and how a company that makes 50% profit every day of the week will never make money. Interesting enough this position was short lived.
