Do you think a new type of battery can go from lab benchtop to consumer in under 3 years? This includes constructing mines to extract raw ingredients, manufacturers doing due diligence and changing their factory workflow/retooling, battery management electronics including charging systems...
Lithium batteries are a proven technology - it will take more than 3 years for it to be supplanted.
