"Hunt agrees that the increase in world food prices can be seen as an opportunity for Australian farmers, but he says that viewpoint must be qualified. He urges people not to forget about the rapidly rising costs faced by farmers.
"The other side of increased food prices is the increased cost of using feed grain to feed dairy cows and beef cattle," he says. "And the cost of water has gone up as well, and the cost of fuel to run tractors (and) harvesters, (and) diesel pumps for irrigation."
