Not a financial advice. But what is your investment timeframe? I have been 30-40% down in some shares, and they are up 70-100% now (namely, WAF ASX). Overall, market tends to overreact to both positive and negative sentiments, and I believe that is the case with SPK - especially if you are telling me that shorts are all time high in the share (I am struggling to find this info - can you confirm where did you get it?)

How long will it take for New Zealand to recover? No ideia. However, if a company is profitable, generates cashes/FCF, is a stable business with dominant position in the market, moderate growth prospects in interesting sectors (i.e. data centres), I would sell unless there is another very interesting opportunity or you have tax strategies associated with it.

In value investing, money is in the waiting game and I believe now it is time to buy ). SPK looks oversold to me, given its characteristic and resilient business - the more it goes down, the more aggressive I will be.
