They should enforce a minimum order amount, how many times do you see 1, 5 or 10 shares traded to only push the price either up or down. This activity genuinely puts pressure on the share price because this is done all day, the longer it is done the more stops are hit and they achieve their goal of moving price.

Not long ago I was in Bru the sp was 3.15 on the bid and 3.17 on the ask then along came a bot selling 22 shares just to make a new low at 3.15. The thing was they made no genuine effort to even put in a sell at 3.16 that's how obvious it was. ubs was the culprit on this occasion, they were doing this all day.

The minimum order amount should be $500 or even $1000. Quite often the companies that trade with 1, 5 or 10 shares have millions of dollars at their disposal.

Another thing they could do is authorize and deny orders that are suspiciously small. I really think they should slow down the hft stuff and
put the brakes on them so they can't dominate the market place by manipulating the price.

Maybe the introduction of a transaction tax would deter this kind of trading.
