The HX has left high school and is now beginning its brick layer apprenticeship.
Like all kids fresh out of high school, the HX probably has foggy brain and not everything is going to go according to plan.
Hence dropping bricks, placing bricks with over hang etc etc.
The HX fingers might have been cold, the bricks cold etc etc
The over hang might be within tolerance.
The over hang might be caused by the slab having incorrect tolerances.
might be might be might be. Lots of might be's.

The reported difficulty with the sun is a concern though. You would think that after so many $ and so many years in development, someone should of made sure that the design would never ever be impacted by the great and mighty Ra.
