I will continue the debate about vaccination, even though I think the discussion about the vaccination roll out and the need for testing is off topic from the thread.

The need for vaccination is to reduce the threat of serious illness possibly resulting in death not unlike the need for vaccination from influenza although influenza is not as life threatening as COVID. Like the flu, COVID will not disappear and various mutations will continue to develop as they already are developing. Vaccines will need to be modified to counteract the threats of severe illness.

To understand why America has invested in Ellume's test kits, Dr Parsons indicated that the Department of Defence is building a facility that caters for the future as they are expecting other pandemics in the future most likely related to the influenza virus strain and further strains of COVID. They do not want to be unprepared for the future. Self testing will offer people quick results on whether a person has a cold, the flu or COVID and therefore, assist in self isolation and quick treatment even if you are vaccinated.

COVID has accelerated the need for Rapid Antigen Tests as distinct from the PCR testing that is costly and time consuming. The Governments around the world do not want to go into another pandemic that will have serious implications for their health systems, the economy and people's well being. The use of RAT will provide a quick and cost effective alternative to PCR.

Now getting back to the align with the thread about share price movement, I have questioned myself about whether I want to stay invested in Rapid Antigen Testing given the vaccination rollout. Yes I do, for the following reasons based on my perception of the future.

Not everyone is going to be vaccinated. There is still a significant resistance to the vaccines currently in use. If 10% of the American population is not vaccinated then 38 million people are at risk of serious illness and death from COVID because even people that are vaccinated are contracting COVID and potentially passing it on to others. So far in America, 34 million people have been recorded as having COVID and over 600,000 have died. That is less than the amount resisting vaccination. Surveys have shown that 30% of the Australian population are not willing to be vaccinated. That represents over 7 million people at risk and recent history has shown that as soon as we get a small community cluster infected, restrictions and possibly locked down procedures are put in place, Therefore, testing will still be required. The Prime Minister has already signaled the need for Rapid Antigen Testing in the future mainly associated with our borders being re-opened.

I visit my elderly mother in a nursing home and I am required to show my flu vaccine certificate and have my temperature taken before I am allowed entry. The residents and staff have all been vaccinated against the flu and COVID. Yet recently it was reported that a couple of residents had a cold and they have been tested and found negative to COVID but the pre-cations are still in place. I am now required to wear a mask and if RAT was available to the Nursing Home I am sure they would require me to undertake a test before entry.

I personally will be investing in an at home test when it is available even though I am currently registered to be vaccinated. Because I will want to know in the future, if I have a cold, the flu or COVID because the outcome will determine what actions I have to take to protect others and myself. If I can get an at-home test that only uses saliva testing then I will be definitely using that test.

Home testing is only one part of Anteo's future as the Eugeni test is more designed for the medical profession, hospitals, nursing homes, large events and gatherings and businesses.

Doctors will want to know in 15 minutes or less whether a patient that visits has COVID, a cold of the flu. Because testing is the only way to find out.

The airline industry is already demanding testing before an individual gets on a plane and because vaccination is only preventative, testing is most likely going to be required.

Apart from COVID, the company is progressing the sepsis testing and also its battery technology and commercialisation.

Given that shareholders provided 10 times more money than the company asked for in its recent share purchase plan is a good indication that the shareholders see a promising future for testing and the other developments.

Hence, IMO, that is why I think the share price will appreciate over time.
