Part 1 of a fascinating doco screened last night in the UK on the beginnings of suicide bombing. Reported by an ex ME CIA agent. He actually got a visa into Iran to film - f*ck me that would be worth a doco in itself!!
Totally fascinating - basically started as a military tactic in the Iran/Iraq war (first suicide bomber was a 13(!) year old Iranian fighter who is worshipped in Iran as a martyr) which seems to have morphed into a terror tactic.
Explored everything from the Iranians to Hizbollah and to the Israeli invasion of Lebanon.
