hi master of sin,
I agree with the RM thing as it is easy for stocks to be pumped by him with the herd following.
Regarding competetive advantage, VOC does have one and a big one at that and that includes people , dark fibre investments and data centres and customer service.
Its is a combination of these three that gives VOC its competitive advantage.
Vocus recognises that its not just about the technology but the service that they provide.
David Spence was with ozemail, James spenceley has 13 years experience in telecom and has extensive experise here.
James owns about 7 mill shares so has quite a bit of skin there.
Vocus is a growth business leveraging on the growing data requirements of the country and they are building and acquiring infrastructure for it.
google dark fibre and there are two sponsored companies that come up straight away : vocus and pipe. Baxter who was with pipe is now on Vocus's board.
Have a deeper look at it, you may find it worthwhile
This one is definitely for the long term and I mean atleast a five year hold as they are in a growth phase.
Vocus is dropping as all other stocks are, but is more vulnerable as even at this price after a massive drop from 3 odd dollars to 1.36, there are people on a 100 pcnt profit and Thats why I believe we will see it go lower.
Nothing has changed regarding its fundamentals.
Hell there are stocks out there selling for EV/EBITDA's of 3-4 with ROE's of 30 or more. Last time I was in this position ( feb- apr 2010) , one year on I saw gains of 120 pcnt on the same stocks, today the same stocks are back down. Fundamentals have remained the same: go figure, That's mr market!
