First time poster, some time reader.
So apologies for the emotive content of this as it is essentially emotion, sentiment and lack of rational thought as my reasons for posting.
I am questioning the recent down turn in the SP. I have held SRX for quite a few yrs now (not necessarily at the level many members are) and I have ridden the peaks and troughs (mostly peaks) and in that time I have made several positve observations;
1. From a medical perspective
a. while not yet creating a full cure SRX has prolonged the lives of patients at certain stages of cancer.
b. The company continues to develop and research new treatments in the fight against liver cancer
c. It continues to increase its use in medical facilities around the world.
2. Financially speaking (no hard facts just broadly speaking)
a. Sales have increased
b. Profits have increased
c. PE is a little on the high side but the company has such a large up side.
Now correct me if I'm wrong but if one our housing bubble propped up banks had similar stats results wise then I feel the SP would be double what it currently is (I suppose SRX doesn't have the Government to cry to if things go south).
It just seems as though sentiment and emotion are behind the current weakening in the price. I understand that some people may have got burnt with the anouncement of trial results last year and are now hedging their bets with SARAH but the nesayers who are calling SRX THE next big short (yes I realise they are pushing their own agenda) are spooking the "Mum and Dad" investors rather than allow the natural order of things to unfold.
I am aware that others might be using the falling dollar as a concern to the profits but the SRX SP has experienced upward trends when the dollar has been rising or at least in a stronger position than it is today.
it could generally be a concern that the whole market is up the creek but I would have felt that with SRX current record it may be seen as a haven and not a risk.
"Experts" have a range of predictions for SRX which is to be expected. Depending on how they have modeled the company it but it has generally been where it is now or better so then I find it funny that some forums (the Motley Fool, I hope I didn't lose anyone there) have said there is a $46 SP target and since posting has slid in the vicinity of $10.
So is it just me that thinks this is a little out of control or do people know things that I am not aware of (very likely if you have just read this)?
So if somebody has the time educate me please. And before you say "DYOR" I have I'm just seeking others thoughts.
Thanks for your time.
