Just a quick clarification about the incident at Brunswick Heads breakwall on Saturday when a member of the public activated the Spectur ERB at that location.

Apparently, the ERB activation occurred after a surfer snapped his leg rope and became separated from his board in moderately heavy seas.

While Brunswick Heads SLSC initiated a rescue effort in an inflatable surf craft (a rubber ducky), I'm now advised that when the SLSC personnel arrived on the scene (some 600 metres from the surf club), the surfer had already managed to haul himself to safety up the rocks of the breakwall. So, that should be taken as a clarification of my original post.

In any event, the important things are that: the surfer escaped injury (or worse); and, the ERB activation triggered appropriate and prompt responses by SLS State and local personnel.
