It's pleasing to see Byron Shire Council drawing attention to the three new Emergency Response Beacons recently installed at unpatrolled beach locations in the Shire. The news piece features in the current edition of Council's community projects update, and describes the location, purpose and function of the beacons for the information of Shire residents (see: https://www.byron.nsw.gov.au/Council/Media-centre/Media-releases/Emergency-response-beacons-installed-on-3-Byron-Shire-beaches).

The main purpose for me posting this information (which does largely replicate an earlier post of mine) is to draw attention to the following comment from Council: "SLS NSW monitors 32 ERBs on the state's coastline with 20 to be installed over the next 12 months" Now, I'll be interested to hear from Spectur in its imminent 4C report or in next month's Annual Report, whether it can confirm that SLS NSW has ordered a further 20 ERBs for installation on the NSW coastline over the next 12 months.
