I think SpaceX will be able to do much better than $22,000/Kg with the Falcon 9 rocket. That's why I used $10,000/Kg in my estimate. Regardless it's is going to cost a fortune.
What I like about Elon is he goes for it. Everyone assumes human kind will eventually have electric and self driving cars, interplanetary travel and colonization, global internet access ecetra. But eventually isn't good enough for Elon, he wants it soon and he nudges the technology along.
