From what I'm told by family who work in hospitals the worst bit of the China virus (although they might be keeping the very worst from me) is the endless racking cough which can be heard all over the place. But from the records that have been kept about the Spanish flu, there are some nasty bits I'd never heard about - the darkening skin eventually black, the bleeding from nose & mouth.
