adwebster, it's my honest belief that many things financially are actually in a worse state than they were in September 2008. Yes we have had a lot of money pumped into the system somewhat stabilising things for the time being, but this can't last forever. Banks in the US are dropping like flies and at an increasing rate. Commercial loan defaults are rocketing. We are heading into a period of a large number of US mortgages resetting to higher rates.

When this rally runs out of puff the investment banks are once again turn to shorting no doubt eating each other alive again with naked shorts which will see more large banks fail...

We are not as far from the abyss as some would have you believe. Perhaps $100 in a night won't happen in the near future, but I would not be surprised if it did.
