    Good to see Sky letting some rights go. And, as usual, I am sure SS paid through the nose for this.

    The reality is that the only Grand Slam that really works for NZ is the Aussie Open. The rest play at very unsociable hours.

    I am a big tennis fan, and I rarely get to see much of Wimbledon, FO and USO.

    So these rights are nice to have, but certainly not big draw cards. Jeff Latch can bang on as much as he lie
    he's about the US Open being one of the big tournaments of the year etc - it just doesn't translate to many eyeballs in NZ.

    Sky shareholders should feel happy when we let some rights like this go. It shows that management are being judicious in their spend.

    In fact, if Sky started to win everything I would sell my shares without delay because clearly we would be blowing out our content budget massively.

    There are some rights we really do want to keep as it would hurt bad to lose them. US Open ain't one of them.
