MRE are significantly more nuanced than the market understands and therefore keeping some tricks up your sleeves as an MD can only get you so far. The misalignment of expectations stems from the nature of geostatistics being far too out of the retail and even research analyst realm to get a proper handle (particularly in a commodity such as gold).
you can easily get f*ed on declustering etc. Also the CP signing off can/will have a material influence on the MRE itself.
