Hi specc and thank you for your straight perspectives - historic and new.
I think I supported two raises at GCY … then ‘sold’ all the shares at an horrific loss to myself in to a different portfolio on accountant’s advice
… felt bad at the loss but then well-pleased with my new low price …. Until it started falling badly once again.. And so on etc, to finally support the 10c raise.
I had meant to write the diamond drill rigs drilling for ‘precious’ ore earlier, but spellcheck wanted previous instead - which is fair enough I guess?
And re my earlier questions the Beament ‘tender’ was not an official tender by any measure I guess?
And starting the plant may be a very long way away unless someone is prepared to hire the plant and wear the cost of trucking ore in — also from a long way away?
Another question please - Will the processing plant degrade - even on care and maintenance?
- It seems a real shame to have it sitting there dormant.
FWIW here’s a link to another Lawson-focused story https://www.miningnews.net/new-emer...s-firefly-from-basket-case-to-takeover-target with a comment on Bill.
This one’s from Mining Journal in July 2021 so a year before that other story …
Apparently back then it was ‘never part of Simon’s plan’ to become ‘an exploration manager’ (so new ground on all sides?)
And Firefly resource was driving the acquisition..
It is another interesting hindsight read, with lots of name dropping, including to himself (.."Without being narcissistic, the asset we have is me…..")
…. Also ..
“..I learnt from Bill [Beament] that it's not the right deal until both of you are uncomfortable," Lawson said.
Lawson counts Peter Langworthy, who he worked with at Jubilee, as one of his mentors.
He describes Jacqui Coombes as his "unofficial aunty".
"She taught me the only thing you have is your name so if you go out there and do a shit job, that's all you've got," Lawson said.
Not known for his subtlety, Lawson admits he is opinionated and "can be offensive".
hmmmm
In regards the talk here around takeovers, there’s clearly lots of knowing eyes - familiar with both the Dalgaranga history and with Simon watching with interest?
cheers![]()
