In Victoria deep leads (buried river beds) could be related to an ancient landscape, because erosion in recent times (few million years) and volcanic events (most recent about 7000 years ago) covered landscapes that could more or less still be in situ. (Of course there is outcropping in WA covered by relatively recently transported material which makes them hard to find. )

The magma intrusions in WA which resulted in the primary gold deposits occurred billions of years ago, i.e before Gondwanaland was formed. I don't know how to find out how old the rivers in which the paleo deposits were reported were, but in the graphic the deposits are more less vertical which is to say there has been a lot of faulting, folding, and sedimentation. More like hundreds of millions of years since the deposits were concentrated in an actual river bed, which among other things implies one can't assume there is a river bed to follow. On fragment might be preserved but the rest has eroded or been moved somewhere else. (Some near the surface, for metal detectorists to find maybe, but SPR have yet to avail themselves of my assistance . )

In the absence of an answer from someone who actually knows what they are talking about I would say it is meaningless to make geographical inferences about a river system gone for hundreds of millions of years, except to say that all the WA goldfields share some regional proximity to events which brought magma towards the surface billions of years ago.
