The port has been there since 1869 and Darwin owes it's original existence to the port, possibly still does?
As a port town it will attract the type of industry that make noise, maybe look a bit ugly and could potentially add to the areas pollution, just like I'm sure the human population up there does.
To me this looks like a version of city folk moving to the country and then complaining about all the farming activity going on around them!
