as abbott mentioned coca cola amatil (ccl) has a market cap of $9bn - the share price is about $12. what would be wrong with placing 2m or 3m shares if they were so desperate for the money.
abbott is throwing down the challenge to business - get a better deal from the workforce. it seems that ccl signed up to extravagant work place agreements - it is not up to government to bail out businesses.
