    Freddi did you get that article from the PubMed database. If so what you will have noticed when you read through is the signicant difference in the technology that is being used. The journal article (abstract) that you have quoted involved the "subcutaneous" immunizations of the chickens. This is a lovely way to immunize as you put it in the right place and inject the right amount. however its labour intensive and quite frankly annoying for large chook farms, whether battery or free range.

    IMU technology is harder to ensure that the chickens are getting the right amount of the vaccine because it will come in the chickens food. However it is significantly cheaper to administer in that way.

    If they have the formula right and they convince everyone that the food delivery will still ensure innoculation, then this is a screaming improvement (and money spinner) compared to injections.
