in primary school rye is all i ever ate!
although german great is awesome, im not very knowledgeable about it as the Bavarian/Swabian area where my parents came from I dont think had many specialities (of bread) from memory.
there were other things such as trout dishes, Spaeztle, lentils, sausages, cakes and dumplings
the dumplings - Maultasche, are simply the best thing I have ever eaten, some seriously full bellies on Sunday lunch at Grandmas eating those!!!
