    with rye bread you need to keep the "cut face" out of the air as much as possible to keep it from going stale

    in primary school rye is all i ever ate!

    although german great is awesome, im not very knowledgeable about it as the Bavarian/Swabian area where my parents came from I dont think had many specialities (of bread) from memory.

    there were other things such as trout dishes, Spaeztle, lentils, sausages, cakes and dumplings

    the dumplings - Maultasche, are simply the best thing I have ever eaten, some seriously full bellies on Sunday lunch at Grandmas eating those!!!
