More on the newly appointed Superstar (Nick Winer):

He started off working at BHP (2nd biggest mining company in the world) for 16 years and was their Exploration Manager in Brazil.

Went to AngloGold Ashanti (3rd biggest gold mining company in the world) for a couple of years and was also their Exploration Manager in Brazil.

Then founded Horizonte Minerals (HM) and started with HM associated discoveries and deals such as:

- Major greenfields discovery of 76Mt @ 1.38 Ni resource
- Acquired project from Teck (one of the biggest mining companies globally)
- Significant greenfields gold discovery + got AngloGold Ashanti to invest $4.5m into it
- Formed a strategic alliance with AngloGold Ashanti in gold exploration programs in 2 regions of Brazil
- JV with private Brazilian company on number of nickel & gold targets
- Royalty agreement with Troy Resources for a HM gold project

Then went back to AngloGold in 2012 and has been there since and has made a monster discovery while there called Nuevo Chaquiro which contains:

- 604Mt @ 0.65% Cu, 0.32g/t Au, 4.4g/t Ag, 116ppm Mo, containing:
- 95Mt copper, 6.1Moz gold, 85Moz silver and 70kt molybdenum, worth:
- $46.6B of in-ground metals value

So how could a tiny tiny Company with a market cap of $5-6m like MNC score or convince someone with the above experience and success to join them?

Last week’s appointment announcement has some clues and answers on why Nick might have joined MNC:

- Joined to advance MNC’s Quinchia portfolio
- His skills and leadership will advance rapidly MNC’s Quinchia portfolio
- He has previous experience in Quinchia
--> Only company that he’s worked for that has a project in Quinchia is AngloGold Ashanti
--> Only project that AngloGold has in Quinchia is the Chuscal project/prospect
--> MNC has an option over Chuscal and is currently negotiating a JV on it with AngloGold

So why would this Superstar want to join MNC???

From the above info, it looks like he knows MNC’s Quinchia project first hand and what’s there and wants to make another monster discovery???

Also sounds like MNC could not have appointed anyone on the planet better suited than Nick:

- Recently made a $46 billion discovery only 40km’s up the road from MNC’s Quinchia project
- Likely previously (over current 6-year AngloGold stint) worked on MNC’s project and knows what’s there
- Knows the area and belt better than anyone

Amazing coup for a tiny tiny company like MNC which has a market cap of $5-6m to lock in a guy who recently made a $46 billion discovery, 40km’s up the road from MNC’s project.

Big play coming here?!?!
