Special shareholder meeting

Under section 249d of the corporations act shareholders can call a general meeting when undersigned by 5% of shareholders. The meeting must be convened by company directors within 21 days of receiving the request. For BDR 5% of shares is around 40m. The call for the general meeting can include a resolution to be voted on by shareholders. In the case of BDR the resolution would propose call a reduction in the CEO's salary pending improvement to the company bottom line.

Flaming is right, theres no point griping and expecting things to change on their own. I'm not sure if the 'hot copper combine' can muster 5% of the votes, but I think it's possible. I'm prepared to coordinate (and also try to enlist support from further afield if circumstances require). What do you folks think, does this sound realistic or do you have any advice on the practicalities? And would anyone be willing to undersign their name to such a letter?
