Comdek Ltd has upgraded South African inferred coal reserves by 78%, from 415 million tonnes to 739 million tonnes after analysing the results of twelve additional boreholes at Koert Louw Zyn Pan open- cut mine.
In the next stage, the company plans to drill a further 98 exploration holes in the three deposits at the Waterberg coalfield to obtain a complete definition of resources at in the area.
The three Comdek properties are located on the boarder of South Africa and Botswana, connected by roads and rail to the largest South African coal export port, Richards Bay Coal Terminal.
