If you go by sovereign risk so much, then how do you explain the success of AVL which developed 2-3 mines in DRC? They got into trouble, but were able to work things through. Over the last few years they got from like $1 or so (post-consolitation of 1 new for 10 old shares) to over $20. Cameroon is by far more stable than DRC!!!

No matter what, lots of African governments have realised that poltical stability is crucial in attracting foreign investments and improve living conditions!
