Lithium is a commodity – every commodity goes boom-bust-boom-bust-etc (supercycle).
AI is a technology. ofc there are tech fads. But there are also some technologies that are truly transformative – stone tools, printing press, telegram, internet, etc. I think it's potentially the same with these new generative language models – it feels like something fundamental has changed (and NVIDIA is booming because it makes the hardware needed to power things like ChatGPT – it aint just hype; go check out the order book lol). Saying AI is the next lithium bubble feels similar to dismissing the iphone "as just another mobile that plays music." Though ofc,I may be wrong and this does just prove a brief fad.
Anyway, that said, I don't think DRO's products using AI has much to do with this rally/re-rate. There was a Bell Potter note shared here a couple of weeks a go, it mentioned DRO providing exposure to the AI/ML space being nice, but it wasn't central to their thesis (think it was the last bullet point) – I'd agree with that fwiw
