Not sure if Royalty is the right word, as opposed to Licensing.
In mining, a royalty company acquires percentages - usually small - of the present or future production of a number of other companies, who then do the actual digging. The beauty here is that everyone can basically sit back and enjoy the income streams without a lot of further effort. The royalty company is essentially a shareholder of other mining companies (though owning a share in production rather than equities).
I feel that with RAC the boot is on the other foot. The 'gold' is legally owned by us, in the form of Zantrene with its patents. Think of it as Element 119, chemical symbol Za - move over, Au! [Of course I'm aware it's chemically a compound and not an element]. Everybody wants to come and mine Za, and whoever owns the Za (us) can 'rule the world' so to speak. So why would we let go of this ownership? Let everyone who wants to use it do so, for the right price.
Does anyone else like the idea of a fabulously wealthy Licensing Company?
