I did a search on pubmed and it shows over 4800 entries where FTO is discussed in papers
The graph below shows the growth in FTO research, which appears to start in 2007.
The last 3 tall bars are figures over 500pa
In 2024 we are at 265 papers.
Given what Su et al found in 2020, which was totally independent to Race, suggests any BP playing in this space would know about FTO.
In my opinion the bigger driver to a commercial outcome for Race will be patent cliffs and sustaining BP revenue opportunities once Bisantrene is proven to have CPACS and efficacy with their existing oncology drug. At that point they will have to learn/know FTO.
