Quickstep Holdings Ltd (QHL). We wrote off our holding in this advanced carbon composites maker at the end of the year, but retained the right to apply for up to $15,000 of new shares at 52 a share by the closing date later this week. As will be recorded in next weeks column, we are lodging an application for 20,000 shares at a cost of $10,400 to take advantage of the companys emerging role in building Americas $US300 billion Joint Strike Fighter program.
Hence next weeks new portfolio will see our cash balance of $5897 extinguished on that and a small gold punt well take this week. For some weeks then, instead of a cash balance well owe the bank, as this column has previously done in years past.
