    take this example?

    2D formula.

    a^2+b^2=c^2 simple pythagoras theorem to work out a right angle triangle.
    we can interchange a with b and it will give you the same answer.

    then lets add another dimension...

    a^2+b^2+c^2=d^2 formula of a cube or box with length height and width. Still gives the same answer even if the dimensions were swapped around.

    so lets add one more dimension to it. let it be time..

    a^2+b^2+c^2+d^2=e^2

    in the 3d version we can interchange the length and width with height and it will still give you a box.

    using the sample principle and apply that to the 4d object you can interchange length with time, height with width etc.
