HC was set up by financial professionals for the benefit of financial professionals. The vast majority of participants are genuine investors/traders trying to make a buck and improve their circumstances.
Unfortunately, there is also a small but influential number of participants whose agenda is running interference for the benefit of themselves and other financial professionals.
The trick for retail is discerning which is which and who you can trust.
DYOR as much as you can is vital. That is not limited to the companies you invest/trade in. It can be time consuming but not difficult to track/follow various posters here and on other SM, T20's and the like, and make your own decisions based on their proven track records over a long period of time. The likes of Kyriaco and Pisces fall into this camp. Integrity comes to mind.
You can also do the same for others by looking at their content on HC over a long period of time. Patterns of behavior are clear to see.
Instinct also comes into play.
At the end of the day you must trust yourself and take responsibility for all your decisions, good and bad. Wisdom comes from experience. Experience comes in large part from making mistakes.
