It’s nothing the company knows, but where there’s smoke there’s often fire. Other enticing possibilities for the unexplained spike:
• Twitchy day-traders who know it’s under-valued and could fire up any time.
• Perdaman close to signing JV with other members of consortium of the Collie coal-to-urea project (Sat AFR p.4) and looking to appoint ‘preferred tenderer’ VDM for the $50m civil engineering contract
• Leakage from the Principal’s side that a large mining-related contract is coming VDM’s way.

All quite plausible possibilities which, amongst others, will hopefully see VDM’s share price fire up before the end of the FY.
