NZ Govt is looking at ways of speeding up approvals for big mining projects because endless court action is frustrating companies and costing them millions eg Bathurst.
A pity the govt look at this 2yrs ago though BTU knew that the escarpment would be a contentious issue. Maybe a better plan of action would be to have developed North Buller first thus avoiding time wasting court action and getting into production earlier.
