From a general use perspective. My phone works pretty much exactly the same when I turn the VPN on. Every now and then I get some funny things happening, like time outs or dead connections. But I can usually fix that by disconnecting and reconnecting the VPN.
In general I have found my Wangle VPN on my phone to perform much better than the VPN I have installed on my PC. I don't notice any slow down at all. However - with Wangle turned on I feel awesome knowing I can flip the middle finger to mass surveillance.
