Unfortunately I was over optimistic.
The Melbourne to Sydney rail line is flooded at Wagga Wagga, and the Cootamundra to Parkes crosscountry line is affected by flooding at Forbes and near Parkes.
This means LAU cannot rail containers in or out of Melbourne.
No advice yet as to when these intercapital rail lines will reopen.
