IMO, the parliament question was RIO lobbying a lobbiest like burke (but not burke), who then lobbied the government and then the person who asked the q did it for RIO. why else would a politician ask the q - they have no clue

RIO now have a fight on their hands. IMO ONLY, I recon that RIO will loose mitchell, why u ask:
1) Carpenter gov are on their last leggs
2) CAZ lost coz Fe which is something everyone has done, but UMC wont loose as bauxite in kimberley NO ONE HAS DONE
3) Election around corner. need brownie points and bowler has been sacked
4) THIS IS THE BIG ONE: Dont forget that 2 major players in the DFD Rhodes Fe acquisition were CRONELIUS and PARRY who received 1.25m shares in UMC + royalties for Fe. Note: Cornelius and Parry work for DOIR!!!!!!

so thinking this further, UMC management are the BEST in the land. they have gone in as a team as opposed to by themselves (mistake CAZ made), they made sure DOIR people are major shareholders with huge vested interests, they are trying to get a tenement that is in an area no1 has ever developed (which will be big for the state). they have done this all the right way and through the right channels and making sure they didnt swoop before the ducks were in a line.

the ducks are now crossing the road in a line from the water to richsville!!!
